Thomas Homade Nakanishi, 77, of Volcano died Sept. 20 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was a retired electrical engineer for General Motors DELCO Electronics Division and a U.S. Army veteran. Survived by wife, Beatrice Sunae Nakanishi of Volcano; sons, Darren Nakanishi of Kokomo, Ind., and Duane Nakanishi of Logan, Ohio; daughter, Dana Nakanishi of Cicero, Ind., brother, Peter Nakanishi of Honolulu; sisters, Bernadette Nakanishi and Aileen Schroffner of Honolulu, Veronica Tanikawa of Torrance, Calif., Thelma Miyashiro of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren. Arrangements by Hosoi Garden Mortuary, Honolulu.
